Amnesty International's new Ambassador of conscience honoree, Peter Gabriel and former recipient U2's The Edge launched the organisation's Small Places Tour in London last week. The event, held at the Hard Rock Café, outlined a preliminary list of 500 Small Places concerts in 47 countries. Organisers expect the list to grow to 1,000 concerts.

Imprisoned Harrington missed London conference

Imprisoned school teacher Maura Harrington who was invited to speak at an event in London arranged by a coalition of human rights organisations, was unable to do so because she was still detained in Mountjoy Prison.
